Located in the heart of Central Texas, Blue Fin Elite runs private one on one sessions for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. With over 15 years competitive experience, our swim coach runs a multi-step program that ensures success in developing strengths in the water. We also offer training programs for local long-distance events and triathlons as well as group biking and running sessions for athletes looking to take their endurance to the next level. With the expertise of our running coach, there is over 30 years of combined competitive and coaching experience we are ready to share with others. Whether you are just looking to develop new skills to exercise with, or you are a beginner-intermediate athlete looking for the thrill of competition, BFE is committed to helping you on your journey.

Swim Coach

Gabriel Taboada

Gabriel spent his entire childhood swimming for The Woodlands Swim Team, competing in TAGS events from a young age. He would eventually be the only freshman to make his 5A high school varsity team, where he would compete in the 100y butterfly before moving to Brazil and swimming a year internationally. As an instructor, Gabriel was lucky enough to work with Mike Koleber, which inspired him to pursue a career in coaching. He helped coach The Hammerheads at The Hills Sports Complex for the summer 2025 season, where the team was able to come out with multiple top age group performers for the season, including the first and second overall point scorers for 7-8 girls. Gabriel is a proud member of the ASCA and spends his time continuing teaching others the art of swimming, as well as training to swim in local events.

Running Coach

Ben Blomqvist

Coach Blomqvist has been coaching with the Hill Country Comets for four years, working with athletes in multiple track and field events. With a strong background as a multi-event athlete, he brings both experience and passion to the team. As a competitor, Coach Ben is a 3-time AAU Decathlon All-American and a Nike National All-American in both indoor and outdoor decathlon, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively. He was a 2-time Texas 5A State Qualifier, a Regional Champion, and a Swedish National Qualifier in the 400m. In college, he was also an SBC Conference point scorer. Coach Ben is dedicated to helping young athletes grow, compete, and reach their potential through hard work, smart training, and strong team values.
